John Worwood, who was on the staff at Falcon from 1971 to 1985, died on 27 December 2025, aged 82. He was in a care home in Somerset, UK. At Falcon, he taught French, was housemaster of Founders and master in charge of cricket. A colleague of the time, Mark Kendall, writes “a bachelor at Falcon, his was the hub of many ‘social’ evenings, with crates of Lion and Castle aplenty!! He was a firm but very fair Housemaster and ran a happy house.” Another former colleague, Gordon Brand, wrote “…One of life’s gentlemen. R.I.P. John Worwood”.
John’s funeral is on Friday 30 January at Yeovil Crematorium, Bunford Lane, Yeovil, Somerset. BA 20 2 EJ.
